The search for a Damper and an Oiler

Mark Walker is restoring this 1905 200hp Darracq back to driving condition and is making good progress. Still, he runs into lots of trouble as he has to fabricate many parts for the car himself relying on old photographs. Interesting is that the Darracq still has a speedo similar to the one we have shown last week. It reads to 140 miles per hour! Just what you need on a Land Speed Record car! As there is very little period information about this car Mark asks our help in finding more detail photos of the car, but at this moment there are two original items he would really like to find. The most important are the dampers. They are very distinctive as they have only one blade on each arm. They were probably made by Truffault. See also this sideways view (click!). The other item is the distinctive oiler on the kingpin. The ball is about 15mm in diameter. Any help in finding these parts would be much appreciated. Contact us (RB)
