The Three Sisters Mystery (UPD. 1925(?) Hudson super six brougham sedan or McLaughlin Buick?)

Some time ago we received this photo from an anonymous source. The back drop is a mountain group called Three Sisters in the state (ooops: should be province!) of Alberta, Canada (which should not be confused with the Three Sisters (rock peaks) in the Blue Mountains, Australia). It must have been a tourist attraction already in the twenties-thirties when this photo (p0stcard?) was shot.  We set out in order to asses which exact road was used and concluded that this probably was the Smith Dorrien Trail, some two miles south west of the Three Sisters. Of course this is all diversion of the essential question pictured above...

Hello,
I live not far away from where this photo was taken and the Mr. Urfjell is correct. I have hiked up the "Three Sisters" many times. I recommend everyone do so if they come this way.
Just a tiny "oops" in the original article, it is the Province of Alberta,
not State. PS: I wish the road and area were still so
undeveloped!

I'm sorry, but I think you are on the wrong place. Take a look at this photo and compare to the one you have. If you look closely behind the old car, you can see the railway. I suggest the photo is taken in the Canmore/Bow Valley Trail on the north side of The Three Sisters:

editor: hi Dagfinn, I am afraid that you are 100% spot on ! Just checked at Google maps and thing we are here : https://www.google.nl/maps/place/10222+AB-1A,+Canmore,+AB+T1W+2W8,+Canada/@51.0753323,-115.3177984,3a,75y,28.35h,90t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sqa3RmJYgqx_rkb0KeAVFow!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!4m2!3m1!1s0x5370c5acef39c2cb:0xdd646de55f4d338d

The only issue remaning is that the mountains appear much more close in oujr photo. But this may be the case due to the use of a long (tele)lens by the photographer. Thanks! We like this location game!

If you like vast wide open spaces to drive in then Canada has them. Our longest road, the Trans Canada Highway is 4,800 miles long. Or you could drive from the 49th parallel to the Arctic Ocean. You might be interested to know that my province, British Columbia, has just announced the creation of a new park on the central Pacific coast called the Great Bear Rain Forest. It is the same size as Ireland and is 4% of the province. The province represents 9.5% of the area of the country. We have a lot of room to move around in.
