We are looking for this 1931 Mercedes Benz SS Convertible Coupe

Rob reached out to us via Instagram. Recently, he found this picture of his grandfather`s Mercedes. His grandfather - Robert A. Radcliffe owned a 1931 Mercedes Benz SS Convertible Coupe registered JV-776.

Can anyone tell us if this Mercedes or parts of the car (the body or engine (No. – 72323)) are still around? If so, we would love to know more about the whereabouts and maybe get in contact with the current owner. Your help would be greatly appreciated! Please comment below or send an e-mail to [email protected].

Try a message at the Pre-War Mercedes-Benz part of the forum of the Antique Automobile Club of America. There are some Mercedes-Benz historians over there with a lot of knowledge they are willing to share.

Wow. I have not a thing to do with this car, and although I live but a few miles from Lee I have never met him. But, here one person is reaching out into the past about his grandfathers car, and through this wonderful website and good people, the task is accomplished. It pretty well brings a skip to my heart to see how we all in this terrific hobby help each other if we can. So, thank you each and everyone, who takes a few minutes of your precious time, to extend that helping hand, a little information, a bit of advice. Again, it's wonderful!

Henri, fascinating records. I don't want to go off topic, but do you have access to Sindelfingen records dating from 1935 to 1936? I am looking for production data for prototype bodywork constructed at DB Sindelfingen for the Porsche Type 60 (Volkswagen) project. If you can assist, that would be wonderful. Particularly I am looking for data on 3 early limousine bodies (of which 1 was all steel) and a cabriolet body.

Thank you,

Patrick

Wow, thank you!

Just want to clarify- my grandfather was Robert A. Radcliffe, not Charles P. Moore. My grandfather bought the Mercedes from Charles in Connecticut. I am Robert A. Radcliffe III.

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!
