It’s an interesting example of a small regional make that bears the name of his manufacturer, a man also known as Jack. Like many others, Jack started his career by dealing in bicycles. Soon after he began to produce automobiles and did so for more than 25 years, although with a few interruptions. His company closed down in 1904, probably because of a disagreement with his directors. In 1908 Jack formed a new company, with almost the same name. They produced the model pictured here. It had a 4 cylinder 14/16 h.p engine that was said to reach a speed of 70 k/ph (some 45 m/ph). The body was made by another local firm. After WWI Jack did not return to car production straightaway. It wasn’t until 1923 before he produced another car, but his company was liquidated in 1925. Do you know who we are talking about? Then tell us the make, preferably the model and what else you know about Jack and his company before Monday, April 20 by using our Contact Form, but first see Read More for the Rules. Have a great weekend! (Photo source to be disclosed next week).
