What is it?
Quiz # 264

The ‘castle’ you see here is in fact an automobile factory. Or, we must say, has been until a few years after WWII. After production of their own brand stopped, it became an assembly plant for several years more. It was all over by 1958, but the castle-like factory is still there. The production of the first car of this make was started in 1906. It was a conventional 4-cilinder rated as 24/30CV, but few were made. The name and logo of this car were based on both the birthplace of the manufacturer and of a very famous person who lived in that same village many, many years ago. In 1908 this factory of another automobile manufacturer was bought and production started in earnest. One of the cars they produced was this sleek 2-seater sportscar, of which we took out the emblem on the bonnet to make your life not too easy. What we want to know from you is of course the make and model of the white roadster; when was it produced, but also what was the precise location of the factory. And remember, whatever else you might tell us about this make could win you the PreWarCar T-shirt, but please first see Read More for the Rules. And do use our Contact Form before Monday, November 30. Enjoy this weekend! (Photo source to be disclosed next week).
