What is it? Quiz # 216

Oh boy, did we find a difficult one! This rusty hulk lies rotting somewhere in the Parana River Delta, twenty kilometres north of Buenos Aires. You can find it on an island in the bamboo grooves. There are no bridges and the only way is by boat. The car in question is a bit (!) hacked about to make it into a pickup, but it probably started life as a sedan. It was manufactured in the USA. However, few Americans will know this make, as it was solely intended for export. But rest assured, it was wholly based on an existing American model, in fact only the badge was changed. The manufacturer couldn’t use its own brand, because that was already licensed to a British company from Wolverhampton. There were also four- and six-cylinder trucks. Some say only 16 of the sedans have been exported to Argentina, although we have (at this moment) not been able to find out if this is true. Now it’s up to you to make some sense of this pile of parts. What do we want to hear from you? The make of course, but also model and year, the make it was based on and all other information you think is relevant, but please no more than 100 words! Send your answer before Monday, November 26 by using our Contact Form. The winner will receive the infamous PreWarCar T-shirt. See how close you can get. Enjoy your weekend!
