What is it? Quiz #357

It is a true English car. Engine, chaingearing and all. With London-to-Brightonthis Sunday we invite you to identify  the fine veteran tourer depicted. This is a situation which can occur in the 2013 edition as well, now entrants are invited to keep up with the speed they have in mind... So we advise the participating gentry not to overdo.  We wonder what the lady depicted said to the constable, but as she is a celebrity she may have come away without a scratch while speeding beyond 14 mph! We are highly curious, if you are able to guess this car. We understand there is very littel to go to tell apart this make from many similar cars of the period. However there is one clearly visible part that none of the others has. To hint you a little more, the manufacturer was also known for marine engine production. Considering the wet conditons to be expected during an average LtB that should be reassuring news. The end came before WWI. In order to win give the best answer to the following questions. 1. Marque 2. Model 3. Year and any relevant or trivial information about this car which is not readily available on the web. Of course it is a plus if you recognise the celebrity at the wheel ... You can post your answer under Comments  this time (due to LtB this weekend) up to and including Monday, November 4. But before you send, be sure to check The Rules under Read More.
