This must be London around 1910; the car vaguely reminding of this 1910 Renault. It seems that a confrontation is near between the fine gentleman leaving the taxi and the driver who is interrupted counting his blessings. We have no idea what is the issue or what happened in the seconds before. So we leave the problem up to you. The print is signed with W. Bird. We could not find too many hard facts about him. But you may be able to help. Anyway, you have 24 hours to post your comments and possibly a brilliant headline or two. The winner will be rewarded with the wellknown PreWarCar brass plate. (from the collection of illustrator Norman Clark)
last weeks best headline was by Peter Partridge; congratulations !
Update by Gareth Morgan: W.Bird was the pseudonym used when working for Punch magazine by the Irish born painter, caricaturist and illustrator Jack Butler Yeats (1871- 1957). From 1890 -1915 his work featured in many contemporary magazines. He was the brother of the poet W.B. Yeats, and remains a very sought after and accomplished artist in his own right.
