What to do during the Rétromobile show 2019: La vie est belle à Paris

Next week, Salon Rétromobile will start in Paris, France. Of course, as it is one of the greatest shows in the world; Rétromobile doesn't need an introduction but every year some things do change. So, we will give our advice on how to spend your week in Paris. Therefore, this week will be Paris-week at PreWarCar.com.

Salon Rétromobile will take place from Wednesday the 6th of February until Sunday the 10th of February 2019 at the Expo Porte de Versailles.
First of all, we would like to invite you to come over to the PreWarCar.com - PostWarClassis.com stand. The team will be present to give you personal advice about the promotion of your car, motorbike or part, and the usage of www.PreWarCar.com and www.PostWarClassic.com, to answer questions you might have, or just for a chat.
Our stand is located at Pavillion 1, close to the escalator (stand number: 1E081). The team welcomes you with fresh coffee and good wine.
Besides that we offer:
  • 2 stunning cars for sale on behalf of our advertisers. We have a powerful twin-cylinder 1904 Clement Talbot and a stunning 1928 Alvis 12/50 FWD, that was the first serial produced front wheel driven car.
  • Possibility to subscribe to The Automobile Magazine: one of the greatest magazine! If you don't receive this magazine yet, please come over to us to subscribe.
  • The one and only Michael Edwards will be selling and signing his books: Michael wrote the famous De Dion Bouton books (1 and 2), Tricycle book and the cartoons of Apsleys and old cars.
  • The new T-shirts of PreWarCar.com that are made in partnership with the highly talented Stefan Marjoram will be available for the first time!

Besides our stand, there is of course so much more to see for a real PreWarCar enthusiast. What to think of the stand of Coupe Pueche, who will have 5 amazing cars (among them a 1901 and 1907 car that has been in the same family since 1940, a Hispano Suiza and Bugatti) on display. Another one of our advertisers; Fiskens will be, as always, one of the stars of the show. The big Bedelia stand of Vintage Revival Monthlery will also be present. And the stand of Bruno Vendiesse/ Fine Automobiles. Do not forget the stand of Compiegne museum! Or the De Dion Bouton presentation of Club de Teuf Teuf. And of course, the many auctions that will take place.

On Wednesday the 6th of February, RM Sotheby's will kick off.

On Thursday 7th, Bonhams have their Grand Palais Sale. Many, many stunning automobiles will be sold. We had the pleasure of taking a look at their catalogue and will publish our favourites later this week.

On Friday 8th, Artcurial will hold their flagship sale. An incredible number of Bugatti's. Voisins and other cars like the amazing Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B will find new owners.

As you see, you need all your time to see everything. We hope to see you all in Paris next week! Please let us know what the reason is for you to visit Salon Rétromobile.

I remember, sitting with my late friend Wim Coppes in a very petit restaurant, eating a delicious canard breast with a glass of red wine.
I never will forget my friend and the time we had together at the Rétromobile.
Enjoy yourself,
Gerard.

Remember to sip a glass of wine at one of the outside heated terraces in Saint Germain, find a brasserie that is not a tourist trap, stroll around Pere Lachaise, visit the Eiffel Tower. For once, the weather will not be freezing, but bring an umbrella as some rain is forecast. Belle Paris vous attend!

Thanks Ross for the advise. Will you be attending the show (or the heated terraces) in Paris?
Cheers, Laurens Klein
