Where is Georgette’s shop? (UPDATE: Nice?)

The first Grand Prix Bugatti to compete in England was owned by “born adventurer” Glen Kidston. He collected his Type 35 from the factory in February 1925 and drove to London via Calais. One month later Glen went back to France to finish fifth in the Grand Prix de Provence at Miramas. Bob King, who now owns this Bugatti, wonders why and especially where these photographs were taken. It must have been prior to the Grand Prix because by that time it was fitted with handles for lifting the bonnet; they are not present in these photographs. It already has its British registration, XW9557, so it is not the delivery journey. There is little doubt the images were taken in France. It could be in Nice prior to the race, although other towns such as Aix-en-Provence near Miramas are possible. Where is Georgette’s shop? Tell us (RB)

UPDATE by LaFayette Montgomery who suggests to contact the Film Commission in Nice or Cannes. “Perhaps someone there could identify easily from the building in the background.”
