Who can help a fellow reader identify this car?

This picture was sent in by one of our readers who asked if we could help identify the car.

We have been informed that the man behind the wheel is Johannes Wouter Lagerweij. Next to him is Nicolaas Marinus Johannes Hessel and in the back we see Geertruida Hessel, an unknown lady and Suzanna Mathilda Lagerwij. Johannnes, better known as Jan, was a carpenter who went on to become a contractor. Among other things, he built the beautiful villa Adriana-Juliana on the Nassaulaan in Baarn, the Netherlands, which is still there. The family lived there for many years and this photo was taken not far from the villa.

Over to the automobile, about which, unfortunately, we have no additional information. Do the features seen here give away the make of the car? Please comment below if you can tell a fellow reader more about what make, type and year the car could be.
