You can see there are many more horses in this town than cars

Taken in 1912 in the interior town of Kamloops it is the only Napier I have seen from there. It is not a good photo of the car, but it is there and appears to be a 30hp. You can see there are many more horses in this town than cars. The car is to the extreme right.

Yes another one and this is significant for its age. The photo is dated July 1,1910. It is taken on the Cariboo Wagon Road. This big six cylinder Napier would be one of the very first cars to be seen in this area of central B.C.

I think the car has been stopped and turned off so as to not spook the horses. It wasn't parked off to the side so it would not get stuck in the deeper mud. Isn't that a great photo? Those are freight wagons, two of them, pulled a team of six horses. I'll bet the horses have never seen or heard a car before.

No idea where Kamloops was, but I know now: in BC, Canada. I count 4 cars and 6 horses. So I wouldn't say far more horses than cars, but cars being on their heels! Also it might be interesting to mention the makes of the other cars, which are from left a Ford (evidently), a Winton and a Hupmobile. Nice scene though, but I wonder what was going on?

I notice everyone is dressed in their Sunday best. It looks to be a Sunday car meet with a few people who have arrived by original horse power to take a look. Do you like the big Winton Six? I think the one with the big headlights is a Hupmobile, although it looks rather small.
