This Riley Special was originally a Riley Adelphi 12/4 from 1937.
The bodywork was built in 2014 by Carrosseriebouw Jansen and is entirely constructed in aluminum, including a cast aluminum bulkhead. The car is equipped with an Armstrong pre-selector gearbox, which functions perfectly.
During the construction of the body, all chrome parts were refinished, the radiator fitted with a new core, the brake drums re-machined, and the brake shoes relined with new friction material. The wheels were sandblasted and powder-coated, after which new Michelin tires (475/525x18) were mounted.
Since completion, the car has covered approximately 700 miles, mainly on leisure drives, classic car events, and a few short map-reading rallies.
There is extensive documentation of the work carried out and the parts purchased.
