This 1934 Aston Martin MkII long chassis tourer is a stunning example of vintage Aston Martin craftsmanship. Originally delivered new to Mr King of Norwich in December 1934, the car remained in the King family until 1952. It was enjoyed next by Mr Briggs of Berkshire and remained in the UK until 1986 when it travelled to New York until 2002, then on to Germany before finally returning to England in 2007 with the current owner. The vehicle has only six owners and a well-documented history including a substantial history file.
Maintained for over 20 years by Ecurie Bertelli, the leading specialist in pre-war Aston Martins, J4/501/L underwent a comprehensive engine rebuild in 2013, retaining its strengthened original cylinder block. Since then, it has covered only modest mileage, ensuring exceptional mechanical condition.
As a long chassis variant, this MKII offers generous space for passengers and luggage, making it perfect for classic car touring, historic rallies or simply enjoying the open road. Renowned for its outstanding handling and braking—among the best of any pre-war sports car—this Aston Martin combines elegance with capability and performance.
