Introduced for the 1928 model year, the Ford Model A represented a dramatic leap forward over the legendary Model T. Powered by a smooth and dependable 201-cubic-inch L-head inline four-cylinder engine producing 40 horsepower and equipped with a conventional three-speed manual transmission, the Model A offered improved performance, refinement, and ease of operation. Four-wheel mechanical brakes further modernized the design, making the Model A one of the most capable and enjoyable affordable automobiles of its era.

As production evolved, Ford contracted with outside body manufacturers, including the Murray Body Corporation, to produce several of its more distinctive body styles. Among the most elegant was the Victoria, designated Model 190A, which featured a rakishly slanted windshield, lower roofline, and graceful bustle-back profile that gave a more sophisticated appearance to the affordable Model A. Early-production Victorias received Murray's distinctive "leather-back" treatment, with fabric-covered rear quarters, while later examples adopted an all-steel rear body.

Believed to be one of those early-production examples, this Murray-bodied Victoria retains the desirable "leather-back" configuration and is attractively finished in dark blue complemented by cream wire wheels, a classic color combination that beautifully accentuates the car's graceful lines. Equipment includes cowl lamps, dual side-mounted spare tires with mirrors, Ford step plates, and a rear luggage rack fitted with a period-style trunk.

The inviting cabin is comfortably appointed with split front seats, a rear bench with folding armrests, courtesy lighting, assist straps, and pull-down rear window shades for passenger comfort. Vintage-style Apco oil pressure and coolant temperature gauges provide additional instrumentation while preserving the car's period character.

Combining Murray's elegant coachwork with Ford's famously reliable chassis, this Victoria is an attractive example of one of the Model A’s most admired body styles.
